Insulated Water Bottle Doubles As A Coffee Cup To Do Away With Disposables

In a world where single-use plastics continue to pose a significant environmental threat, finding sustainable alternatives has become a pressing concern.
London design studio Seymourpowell has risen to the challenge with its latest creation, Bottlecup—combining the functionality of an insulated water bottle and a coffee cup with a lid. With just a single holder, users now have a convenient and eco-friendly solution for staying hydrated and enjoying their favorite beverages on the go.
According to the UK Parliament, statistics revealed that in the UK alone, approximately 2.5 billion disposable coffee cups are used and discarded each year, with a mere one in 400 cups being recycled.
As such, the company decided to create an all-in-one solution that would combat the issue of people often forgetting to carry their vessels with them when out and about.
Bottlecup features a stainless-steel water bottle that effortlessly slots inside the cup. By twisting the bottle, it securely locks in place, ensuring easy and safe transportation.
The cup itself can be detached with a simple twist, allowing users the flexibility to use it separately or with the silicone lid that is conveniently stored in its base.
One can use this versatile design for a wide range of beverages, including smoothies, beer, soups, and more.
In terms of ergonomics, both the bottle and cup boast a gently curved silhouette, enhancing comfort and ease of use. Plus, the product incorporates a silicone waist that provides a tactile surface to twist when attaching and detaching the cup.
A colored band not only adds a personal touch but also prevents any unwanted leaks when the bottle and cup are joined together.
Of course, with sustainability as a key focus throughout the design process, the entire product is plastic-free. In addition, all components are made from recyclable materials.
Last but not least, the 18/8 stainless steel used for the bottle and cup can be easily recycled through curbside recycling services, while the band and cup lid, made from food-grade silicone, can be returned to Bottlecup for responsible recycling.
