Subway is starting the new year on a sweet note with the permanent addition of a chocolate chip footlong cookie to its menu in January 2024.
This giant treat first tantalized taste buds at a popup in Miami on National Cookie Day last year and disappeared in less than two hours, signaling an undeniable craving among fans. Coming full circle, the sandwich chain is commemorating the special day again by perfecting this supersized version of America’s beloved dessert and ensuring it is here to stay.

The footlong cookie will debut across the US, offering a decadent, improved experience that's “thick, gooey, packed with chocolate chips and served warm—right out of the oven,” as described by Paul Fabre, Subway’s senior vice president of culinary and innovation. Perhaps serving as more than just an afterthought to a sandwich, these sweet treats could very well become the main attraction, rivaling even the most favored subs.

For those eager to get an early taste, select Subway locations in Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and New York will offer a sneak peek on National Cookie Day, December 4.
In the same vein, Subway will donate a portion of all sales for any cookie through December 31 to the Subway Cares Foundation, supporting initiatives like the Fresh Start Scholarships program. And if that wasn’t sweet enough, Subway MVP Rewards members can indulge in a free cookie with the purchase of a six-inch or footlong sub for a limited time.
