Earth to aliens! If you’re reading this, it means you’re beginning to receive targeted advertisements.
In a curious move that seems straight out of a sci-fi film, snack brand MoonPie has launched a unique global campaign aiming to communicate with an audience beyond our planet. The campaign, created in partnership with advertising agency Tombras, seeks to establish MoonPie as the first brand to advertise directly to extraterrestrial life. With a name like that, how could one not claim this honor?
The inspiration for this out-of-this-world marketing strategy came after a congressional hearing on July 26, 2023, where experts testified about the existence of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) and confirmed the presence of aliens on Earth. MoonPie, seizing the opportunity, collaborated with UAP experts to explore this new intergalactic demographic as a potential market.

Among the experts enlisted were Sean Cahill, a retired US Navy Chief and UAP exposure activist; Daniel Oberhaus, an alien linguistics expert and author; and Holly Wood, a UAP researcher. Their mission was to understand and engage with this newly identified audience. Oberhaus, for instance, contributed insights from his book Extraterrestrial Languages, which discusses communication methods with aliens, including the use of Lincos, a binary bitmap code-based language.

The campaign features a range of mediums, including static, mobile, and digital billboards, airplane and boat banners, and even a drone show over the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, Mexico, for the most expansive outreach.

These bizarrely inclusive signs were strategically placed in UAP hotspots like Times Square, Washington DC, Roswell, Cape Canaveral, London, and Tokyo. The visuals were designed in a language purportedly understandable only by aliens.

A dedicated website invites the first non-human to prove their alien identity for a chance to become the brand’s ‘Alien-fluencer’. Other visitors can learn more about these lesser-known residents as the site also delves into findings about extraterrestrials living on Earth.
Noting the importance of communicating with potential non-human life forms on Earth, Cahill shares, “The July hearings made one thing clear: non-human biologics are on Earth. We don’t know much more about what that means, but it’s a fair question to ask: if we have non-human biologics, are there living non-humans among us?”
He adds: “If there’s even a chance of that, communicating with them should be a top priority because it means taking one step closer to answering the ultimate question. Are we alone, or are we part of something much larger?”

Tombras president Dooley Tombras echoes this sentiment, expressing excitement about the possibility of MoonPie making history by being the first brand to confirm contact with extraterrestrial beings.

Besides capturing the imagination, this stunt symbolizes an extraordinary moment for human and extraterrestial contact, blending creativity with the intrigue of the unknown.
