Apple has wrapped up a new design patent, this time for a sleek cover for the “spatial computing” Vision Pro—our first look at an official accessory for the headset.
The newly-revealed filing from Hong Kong, first spotted by Patently Apple, details a cover that’s as much about protection as it is about maintaining the headset’s chic aesthetic. Crafted from a soft-touch woven fabric, this piece is envisioned to envelop the front and sides of the mixed-reality gear, safeguarding it against scratches and debris for the display.
Notably, it leaves the back of the device and Light Seal clear for a comfortable and freeing experience. The inclusion of a handy tab on the left side of the cover allows for quick and easy removal.

The cover’s design harmonizes with the Vision Pro’s headband, so users won’t find this addition jarring to look at. The comprehensive approach means the most vulnerable parts of the Vision Pro, especially the all-important EyeSight display, get the protection they need without hindering the user experience.
While the primary role of this cover is protective, Apple has evidently made a point to weave style and functionality together.
This accessory is just one piece of a larger puzzle, with the tech giant securing a total of 70 design patents related to its forthcoming headset. Among these is a document for a Vision Pro battery with a recessed port, highlighting the detachable nature of the battery unit’s cable.
Surprisingly, Apple is hardly the first to come up with add-ons for the Vision Pro. Third-party headbands have surfaced from as early as back in June.
CASETiFY has also showcased a full lineup of headbands, bumper-style cases, cushions, and neck straps for the AR/VR device. Prioritizing self-expression, the protective accessories here are much more colorful, contrasting with the minimalistic approach outlined in Apple’s patent. These should be launched at the same time as the Vision Pro in 2024.
