Nissan Middle East recently took the streets of Dubai by (sand)storm—digitally, that is. The viral campaign, envisioned on the country’s City Walk billboard, shows off the iconic Patrol lineup using computer-generated magic.
The video, dreamed up by advertising agency TBWA\RAAD, depicts a convoy of Patrol SUVs cruising through a desert landscape, perfectly synchronized with the flow of actual traffic on the adjacent road and leaving a swirling cloud of sand in their wake.

This mirage culminates with several CGI vehicles leaping from the digital space onto the real asphalt, symbolizing the range’s powerful presence and performance. The scene leverages high-resolution 3D modeling and photorealistic rendering to highlight the Patrol’s rugged elegance and cutting-edge features.
A billboard showing a trio of four-wheel-drives, towering over all the little cars on the road, serves as the physical counterpart to the social media takeover, their tops sticking out a little for a 3D effect.

VFX activations have been tantalizing the public for a while now, thanks to the larger-than-life elements introduced into everyday scenarios, and this one is no different.
“One of those cars nearly hit me this morning,” jokes a viewer.
