Adobe Firefly, the creativity giant’s popular art-generating artificial intelligence, has spread its wings to reach Apple’s new Vision Pro as a standalone app, allowing users to paint vivid images in the room around them at a whim.
Tailored for visionOS, Firefly turns text prompts into “ethical” visual art trained on public-domain and openly-licensed images, as well as Adobe Stock assets. As demonstrated by Adobe principal director Terry Lee White, users can input a description such as “toy robots having dinner in the dining hall at a stuffed animal retirement home” and watch as the app brings this scene to life in augmented reality.
Firefly for Apple Vision Pro also enables users to drag and position these AI-created in real contexts, like adding a piece of art to a wall or a desk.

With AI artworks soaring into the next dimension, Adobe is doubling down on transparency and authenticity. Each piece will be embedded with Content Credentials, which work like a digital “nutritional label” that lets you know its origin and creation process.
Moving forward, the company plans to broaden Firefly’s functionality on the Vision Pro, including adding panoramic views and full 360-degree environments that could enrich the creative landscape.
For those interested in stepping into this augmented fantasy, Adobe has made the app’s text-to-image AI features available for free on the Vision Pro until March 2024, after which it intends to introduce pricing and credit usage details.
In addition to Firefly, Adobe has made Lightroom available on the Vision Pro for a more immersive photo editing experience. Other apps from its creative suite, including Adobe Fresco and Behance, are expected to arrive on the platform at a later time.
