Disney’s Pixar has released the official trailer for Inside Out 2, and it hints at a mind in flux as Riley enters her turbulent teenage years.
The energetic youngster is all grown up now, and the once-cozy headquarters in her head is undergoing some major renovations, bringing new faces to the control room. The established crew of Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust are in for a surprise with the arrival of some fresh emotions, including Anxiety (voiced by Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos), and Embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser).
Director Kelsey Mann teases that the newcomers will amplify things in the headquarters. “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat,” says Mann.
Inside Out 2 is poised to cleverly portray the emotional rollercoaster of teenage life. In the trailer, we see glimpses of Riley experiencing frustration, insecurity, and social anxieties—situations that are sure to resonate with anyone who's ever been a teenager (or a parent of one).
Hitting theaters on June 14, 2024, Inside Out 2 stars returning all-star favorites like Amy Poehler (Joy), Phyllis Smith (Sadness), Lewis Black (Anger), and Liza Lapira (Disgust), with Tony Hale replacing Bill Hader as Fear. Get ready for some serious feels when it hits the big screen this summer!
