Adobe has launched Firefly Services, a suite of artificial intelligence-powered tools designed to be your creative sidekick and handle repetitive tasks. With its intelligent automation, users could, say, instantly scale hero assets into thousands of variations, resize images for social media, or whip up unique product backgrounds.
Unveiled at the Adobe Summit 2024, the platform is built in with over 20 generative AI and creative APIs, acting as building blocks for developers. These APIs allow you to integrate intelligent features directly into your existing workflow or craft entirely new content creation solutions, whether to generate new content, edit it, or assemble it into a finished product. According to the company, this translates to better support for marketing teams, who can now deliver personalized content across different channels and regions, keeping customers engaged in the fast-paced world of social media.
The tools are meant to fit right in with your work routines. For example, they can produce personalized, market-specific content for different audiences and adapt quickly to meet changing demands; create repeatable workflows to showcase products across seasonal campaigns for faster digital merchandising; and cut photoshoot and post-production costs. These actions can also be combined at once.
The suite’s APIs bring Photoshop, Lightroom, and Firefly abilities to the roundtable, including text-to-image generation, Generative Expand (expand images beyond their frame), Generative Fill (easily add or replace objects with text), Generative Match (for a consistent style across visuals, Remove Background, Product Crop, Photoshop Actions, and Create Mask.
“With Firefly Services, you’re not just creating—you’re automating,” shares Adobe senior developer advocate Hamza Habeeb. “You’re scaling your content production needs, you’re taking advantage of the latest AI/ML technologies to supercharge your creative workflows, and most importantly, you’re saving valuable time and effort.”
For developers, these specialized APIs streamline batch and production processes, allowing them to increase speed to market and drive customer engagement. Plus, Adobe provides an SDK for easy integration into your preferred coding language.
And for those seeking an extra level of customization, a new Custom Models feature allows you to train AI models using your own brand assets so content remains consistent and reflects your brand voice.
