Pizza Hut Taiwan is scaling up on bizarro bakes. After breaking out of its shell with a “turtle” pie, the fast-food chain has another reptile up its sleeve, or crust. It’s a Snake Ring Pizza, and it’s not for the faint of heart.
Resembling a coiled-up snake, this deceptive dish is made up of pizza crust that’s stuffed with mozzarella cheese for a slimy, albeit yummy, component. Although it was announced for April Fools’ Day, this is no snake oil. It’s a real pie that can be ordered through April 7.

Pizza Hut Taiwan explains on its website that the curly, mammoth breadstick with beady eyes is intended to shock unsuspecting eaters when they open the box, but the optics aren’t the only sly bit here. The surface of the crust is sprinkled with mustard powder to give it an unexpected bite.

“No snake has been harmed” in the making of this edible slice of humor, the brand asserts. For a limited time, the Snake Ring Pizza will slither onto dining tables for NT$219 (US$6.85).
