Microsoft Debuts X-Men Comic Book-Wrapped Xbox With Action Toy-Style Controllers

Microsoft and Marvel Animation have joined forces to create a limited-edition X-Men ’97 Xbox Series X that packs a wham, bam, and pow. Specifically, this mutant mashup comes wrapped in a brand-new, exclusive comic book.
Written by Rich Douek with art by Paco Diaz, the two-page adventure features Cyclops leading the X-Men into battle against the classic villains Sentinels and Master Mold. The story even features the Xbox Series X itself, which makes a special cameo appearance within the Danger Room.
The launch marks the first time an Xbox Series X has been adorned with a comic book, offering a delightful wave of nostalgia for X-Men ’97 fans.

Further deepening the mutant immersion, Xbox Design Lab has cooked up a set of controllers inspired by the iconic color schemes of your favorite X-Men characters, including Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, and more.
Each controller sports a unique design and comes packaged in a rad 90s-style blister pack, transporting you back to the era of the original X-Men cartoon.

For those with an inkling they have the X-gene for the one-off items, Xbox is holding a sweepstakes on Twitter where you can try to snag the X-Men ’97 Xbox Series X and one of the themed controllers through May 19.
