KFC is taking a whiff out of tantalizing the olfactory senses with a crisp, limited-edition perfume called No. 11 Eau de BBQ.
This fragrance, available in the UK, comprises notes of smoky wood and charcoal while evoking the mouthwatering aroma of the Colonel’s secret blend of 11 herbs and spices.
The launch coincides with the release of KFC’s new menu item, the Ultimate BBQ Burger. This juicy creation features Original Recipe chicken alongside crispy onions, a sweet, tangy, and smoky BBQ sauce, all nestled within a glazed brioche-style bun. Aiming to capture the hearts (and noses) of fried chicken aficionados, KFC decided to bottle the essence of this new burger into a perfume.

This isn’t the first time the fast-food chain has tried to make sense of scents. Apart from rolling out a fried chicken-inspired firelog over the holidays, the company’s Spanish leg (or wing?) previously released an ‘Eau D’uardo’ cologne, paying homage to a viral meme in the country where ordinary objects were playfully given Spanish names. “Eduardo” specifically referred to fried chicken, and KFC jumped on the trend by creating a chicken drumstick-shaped bottle filled with a fragrance supposedly reminiscent of their secret herbs and spices.
Priced at £11 (US$13.73), KFC UK’s perfume was made available for pre-order via the KFC Shop, with all proceeds directed towards The KFC Foundation, committed to helping young people fulfill their potential.

Although the first batch has evaporated, the company has announced a second scent drop scheduled for May 7, offering another chance for enthusiasts to indulge in the “scent of the spring,” as defined by KFC. The Ultimate BBQ Burger itself will be available in KFC stores until June 9, providing a limited window for customers to experience the taste that inspired the fragrance.
