There must be much more to life on the road for man’s best friend than the perk of sticking its head out of the car window. Luckily, Genesis has something for your furry friend. With its luxurious, pet-friendly features, the new Genesis X Dog Concept for the Electrified GV70 isn’t just a bone thrown to the canine community but a plush palace on wheels.

Endeavoring to provide a serene travel experience for fluffy companions, Genesis has thoughtfully reimagined the electric car’s interior to cater to Fifi from head to tail. The model sports a plush, heated bed lined with quilted vegan leather, replicating the comfort of your pet’s favorite spot at home. The cozy creation follows in the paw steps of research by the University of Lincoln, which found that dogs are calmer in electric vehicles due to the quieter ride.

A built-in, lightweight ramp crafted from aluminum and carbon fiber allows for easy access, eliminating the struggle of jumping into the cargo area.

Harnessing the vehicle’s electric capabilities, the Genesis X Dog Concept features a built-in shower and even a hairdryer, perfect for rinsing off muddy paws or post-beach adventures.
The vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature is another highlight, supporting a 3.7 kW power supply to use various electrical appliances. This includes an external charging port and a domestic electrical socket within the module, enhancing the convenience for all types of outdoor activities.

To set the mood, the module offers interior lighting in 100 colors, with blue and violet tones known to have a calming effect on dogs. This ambient lighting is carefully positioned to blend with the cabin's aesthetics while ensuring it doesn't distract the driver. And if you need extra space, the module can be removed, demonstrating Genesis's understanding of flexibility in design.

The attention to detail extends to a personalized leather dog collar and safety harness, enhancing security and style for your pup on the go.

Worried about a wet dog in the car? The concept also includes a dedicated drying area to keep both Fido and the car interior fresh.

For a closer look, the experimental design will be displayed at Genesis Studios in the UK, starting at the Genesis Studio Battersea from May 9 to 21 and then moving to the Genesis Studio Westfield from May 22 to June 5. Here, the automaker extends its renowned hospitality to include dogs, with a dedicated area equipped with everything from water bowls to cozy beds.
Alas, the Genesis X Dog Concept is currently just that—a concept. It remains to be seen if this luxurious dog haven will make it into production, but it certainly wags the tail of paw-ssibility.
