Canva is drawing a fresh canvas, and it’s got some mighty bold strokes. At the Canva Create Event in Los Angeles, the online editing platform unveiled a sweeping redesign aimed at redefining its role in the competitive landscape alongside giants like Adobe and even productivity powerhouses like Microsoft and Google.
A purported go-to resource for teams within 95% of Fortune 500 companies, Canva has introduced a new editor and a redesigned homepage that prioritizes content reachability, facilitating smoother transitions between projects and easier collaboration.

The centerpiece of this overhaul is a revamped editing experience, the first in a decade. A new contextual editing toolbar aims to declutter the interface and enhance focus, bringing popular tools like the one-click background remover and Canva’s AI-powered Magic Studio to the forefront. The homepage is now customizable, allowing users to favorite designs, folders, and brand templates, and organizations to pin important content. An advanced search interface also promises to reduce time spent searching, giving more time to creativity.

Hot on the heels of Adobe’s Express for Enterprise announcement, Canva, too, has tailored its new features to address the unique challenges of large enterprises, who are feeling the pressure to churn out more and more quality visual content. It’s unveiled the Canva Enterprise tier, which aims to support organizations with multiple divisions by providing advanced tools and centralized management capabilities, as opposed to the Teams subscription for small- to medium-sized businesses.

The Enterprise subscription offers several key features designed to enhance productivity and streamline workflows. These include scalable cloud storage, consolidated account management, and enterprise-level security features. Additionally, Canva’s Bulk Create function allows users to rapidly update designs using CSV or Excel files, making it easier to produce multiple versions of marketing materials or business documents.

Canva is also broadening its appeal with specific tools tailored for different departments like Marketing, HR, Sales, and Creative. These include Canva Work Kits, which are collections of industry-specific templates that can be branded and customized. For example, HR teams can access templates for onboarding decks and job advertisements, while Marketing teams can utilize templates for campaign content calendars and social media posts.
A new Canva Courses segment aims to enhance workplace learning by allowing users to turn designs into interactive courses for onboarding or professional development.
At the same time, the all-in-one platform is continuing to innovate with AI-driven features in its Magic Studio, enabling users to generate graphics from text prompts, apply brand templates with one click, and edit photos with AI precision.
