Athletes know recovery is just as important as training. Nike has thus teamed up with mobility giant Hyperice to step up the world of wearable technology, introducing the Nike Hyperice Boot. This high-top footwear brings on-demand heat and air compression massage for your feet and ankles.
The Nike Hyperice Boot comprises a built-in system of dual-air Normatec bladders that inflate and deflate, mimicking a professional massage. This dynamic air compression is designed to improve circulation, reduce soreness, and increase blood flow—all crucial elements for optimal performance and recovery.

Beyond foot rubs, heating elements integrated within the boot work in tandem with the compression, helping to warm up muscles and tissues before a workout. This pre-heating can improve flexibility and range of motion, potentially reducing the risk of injury.

Athletes can choose from three levels of compression, and both the left and right shoe can be synchronized or adjusted individually. A simple button press allows you to control the heat and compression in both shoes simultaneously, or customize to each foot independently. The insole houses a battery that powers this innovative unit, keeping wearers recovery-ready on the ball.

But that’s not all. Alongside the boot, the allies have also crafted a wearable vest designed for athletes, which offers cooling and heating without relying on liquid or ice. State-of-the-art thermoelectric coolers autonomously sense, monitor, and control body temperatures. Meanwhile, embedded air bladders apply pressure to enhance the warming/cooling sensation, making it ideal for pre- and post-workout use.

LeBron James himself, who tested both the shoes and the vest over a year ago, expressed his confidence in their impact.

“From the moment I tried the Nike x Hyperice boots and vest while they were still in development more than a year ago, I knew they were going to change the game for athletes’ warm-up and recovery,” shares the basketball legend.
“Recovery is an important part of any athlete’s journey, but we’re hearing from athletes that this concept of ‘pre-covery’ is equally as important,” chimes in Tobie Hatfield, senior director of Nike Athlete Innovation. “The footwear and vest that we’ve developed with Hyperice help get the body ready for activity, whether you’re playing for a title or you’re on your feet a lot at work.”
