Porsche and PANTONE have teamed up to create a color that’s sure to turbo-charge the automotive world. Slated for unveiling during New York Fashion Week (NYFW), this exclusive metallic gray was created to embody the spirit of Porsche’s iconic Turbo models while offering a sophisticated nod to minimalism and timeless style.

This sophisticated hue draws inspiration from both the high-octane world of Porsche's Turbo line and the serene tones of nature. The shade manages to be both minimalist and distinctive, offering a fresh take on gray that’s both grounding and peaceful.

Porsche marked the occasion by showcasing limited anniversary editions of the 911 Turbo S and Taycan Turbo S, demonstrating the color’s versatility across different vehicle shapes and drive types.
Notably, Turbonite is the first custom automotive color that has graced the pages of PANTONE’s Fashion Color Trend Report for NYFW. According to Michael Mauer, vice president of style at Porsche, the shade was developed over several years through an intensive creative process. The result is a unique metallic gray with gold-tinted elements that create an elegant, metalized effect, topped with a contrasting satin-matte finish.

The shade is making its way into various elements of the Turbo models, from the rear lettering and window borders to the exclusive crest on the front of the car. Inside, you’ll find Turbonite on trim strips, belt straps, and even air conditioning controls, depending on the model. Turbonite is also being used as a contrasting color for decorative stitching on seats, door panels, and floor mats in models with black interiors.
