This fashion season, it’s time to leave the baggage behind.
Paris-based label Zomer has taken the concept of minimalism to a new extreme with its rather on-the-nose ‘No Budget Bag’—a designer handbag that forgot to include the bag. Unveiled at its Fall/Winter 2025 showcase at Paris Fashion Week, this it-accessory consists of a single handle, with no actual storage, pockets, or, well… anything. Designed by Danial Aitouganov, Marvin Muelleck, and Vaia Tatopoulou, it’s an audacious statement on where the world of fashion is at.
The No Budget Bag fits right into Zomer’s collection of unconventional designs from the new backward-inspired range, which includes reverse-worn garments. But this piece strips things down to the core. As ultra-mini handbags continue to shrink almost to the point of uselessness, Zomer has cut to the chase and removed the bag entirely. No storage? No problem. Just grab the handle and pretend.
Despite its total lack of function, the handle is at least made from high-quality materials and comes in different colors and finishes. For those feeling crafty, it can be accessorized with charms, keychains, or perhaps the memory of money well spent.
If nothing else, the No Budget Bag makes a strong statement: you just need a handkerchief to cry into.
Zomer’s No Budget Bag, a designer handbag with no actual bag, redefines luxury fashion with a humorous take on excess.
