The Queen’s Dress On Live TV Doubles As Accidental Green Screen For Memes

The Queen has been the subject of some pretty royal memes of late. Soon after the royal family shared an iconic collage of Queen Elizabeth II in a phone call with British prime minister Boris Johnson, she appeared on live television in a dress that was just asking to be turned into a green screen.
Last Sunday, the Queen made a national address about staying strong during the COVID-19 crisis. Viewers were evidently inspired—not only because of her speech, but also because of the emerald green dress she had on, which was perfect for filling in effects or backgrounds just like how CGI would be used for films.
“I, for one, would like to thank the Queen for making her royal address and providing the nation with something it sorely needs right now—the perfect Photoshop bait,” tweeted writer and cartoonist Peter Chiykowski.
He got the ball rolling by superimposing a cat T-shirt on the dress, and since then, the meme has seen no end.
Paying homage to her love for corgis, Chiykowski also imagined her in corgi fan tees.
Social media users have additionally gone meta by putting Queen Elizabeth II in a sweater depicting Queen Elizabeth I, as well as merchandise for rock legend group Queen.
