Microsoft Shares Up-Close Video Of Redesigned MSPaint, And It Has A Dark Mode

While it isn’t the most sophisticated graphics editor out there, something about Microsoft Paint brings up fond memories. And with Windows 11 debuting a fresh new look, users can rest easy that the software will still retain its simplicity and innocence.
Earlier, Microsoft quietly shared a sneak peek of the refreshed Paint software with a free stock image on Unsplash. Now, Microsoft’s Chief Product Officer Panos Panay has previewed a more official look in the form of a video. It’s the first time users get to preview the all-new MSPaint with a dark mode, which would make it much more comfortable to create quick illustrations and memes when the moment strikes at night.
Blending into the minimalist Fluent Design System, Paint’s interface now features black and white icons with a circular design. Without the borders surrounding the buttons, the entire look also appears more spacious. In terms of functionality, though, Microsoft doesn’t seem to have added new art tools.
The 18-second video concludes with the redesigned MSPaint icon, first revealed by Microsoft in April.
