While streaming services have only become ubiquitous in our households less than a decade ago, Netflix has actually been around for a quarter of a century.
To mark its 25th year in the business, the service has released a nostalgic video tracing its roots all the way back to its days of shipping DVDs.
The company actually had its beginnings in 1997, though it only launched its website the year after. At first, it worked by sending out DVDs to customers, the very first of which was the acclaimed Beetlejuice.
Nine years later, streaming became a reality, with the firm’s first Original—Lilyhammer—taking to the screens in 2012. Since then, it has churned out numerous hits including Money Heist, Squid Game, and Stranger Things.
