‘The Sims 5’ Visuals Apparently Leak, Offering Premature Look At Art Style

The Sims 4 has granted players the chance to live a second, third, or fourth life without real consequences. But eight years on, even they want to break out of these lives. Just give them The Sims 5 already!

It appears that the next generation of the beloved life simulation game is on the horizon. At its Behind The Sims Summit on October 18, Electronic Arts briefly previewed upcoming gameplay for the franchise. While the project has been codenamed ‘Project Rene’, fans were convinced they were looking at the first official teasers of The Sims 5.

Now, leakers on Twitter have released more purported images from The Sims 5’s alpha build, giving players a peek at a new city, apartment buildings, and customizable rooms.

LEAK #2 🚨

The visuals also suggest that users could eventually own cars on the game and drive them around, even being presented with a parking ticket. Egads.

From the get-go, however, it’s clear that the graphics are far less realistic than those of The Sims 4. As per myPotatoGames, the game’s creators may have had to dumb down the visuals to make way for cross-platform gameplay. As disclosed at the summit, the franchise is looking to let players hop onto different devices, such as smartphones and the Nintendo Switch, to continue their progress.

With that being said, it’s still early times, and Electronic Arts may end up improving the aesthetics in the final version. Have you seen how quickly Meta turned around after audiences ridiculed Mark Zuckerberg’s metaverse selfie? There’s hope yet, everyone.
