Apple might be preparing to release a new iPhone model in a fresh array of colors, namely gray, white, blue, red, and orange later this year.
According to respected TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this less expensive, yet colorful new iteration of the beloved iPhone is slated to come with facial recognition and an edge-to-edge display screen, as reported by 9to5Mac.
The current iPhone 8 comes in silver, black, gold, and red options, whilst the iPhone X is only available in silver and black.
Apple is expected to release three different iPhones this year—an updated and improved version of the iPhone X, a larger version of the iPhone X that could also come in gold, and a third less expensive colorful iPhone with the earlier mentioned features that is likely to range between US$650 to US$750.
The lower cost iPhone follows Apple’s last attempt in 2013 with the iPhone 5C, which also came in a variety of colors—but did not meet sales expectations and has since been discontinued.
