‘Peanuts’ Gets Reimagined By 7 Artists & Various Brands As Adorable Apparels
By Yoon Sann Wong, 10 Sep 2018
In spring 2018, the Peanuts Global Art Collective launched with murals across seven cities, created by seven artists—Rob Pruitt, Andre Saraiva x Mr. A, Nina Chanel Abney, AVAF, FriendsWithYou, Tomokazu Matsuyama, and Kenny Scharf—who reimagined characters from the world-famous comic strip.
The project hasn’t stopped there though. New York-based STORY is teaming up with Peanuts Global Art Collective to expand this initiative and bring the artists’ contemporary remixes of Charles Schulz’s Peanuts gang to limited edition, wearable merchandise.
This ‘How Original!’ project will see collaborations with brands such as Champion, PinTrill, Herschel, Away, and Corkcicle to recreate the artworks as apparels, accessories, and collectibles. Vans will also be participating as a DIY studio so you can design your own pair of skate shoes on-site.
Find out more about ‘How Original!’ that will run from 5 September to 7 October at STORY, located at 144 10th Ave, New York, NY 10011, here.
