After a last minute leak revealed the names of Apple’s three new 2018 iPhones via the brand’s website hours before their official unveiling, one of the trio, the iPhone Xs, has sparked witty jokes online about how to correctly pronounce its name.
The iPhone Xs was announced along with its upsized Xs Max, both of which offer dual-SIM support, and the mid-tier iPhone XR that will arrive in multiple colors.
The leak had many referring to the “ten s” as “excess,” while others misheard “tennis” during the official announcement and Australian rock band INXS—pronounced “in excess”—found itself dragged into the mixup.
