The rapper previously known as Kanye West isn’t just vying for a teaching career, he’s now also propelled himself as the prevalent character in the most popular book in the world.
“The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE,” he tweeted over the weekend.
The renaming wasn’t exactly a decision made at a spur of the moment. The YEEZY founder titled his last album, Ye, and has widely referred to himself by the moniker since.
“I believe ‘Ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible,” the rapper told Real 92.3 radio host Big Boy after the album’s release in June. “In the Bible, it means ‘you.’ So I’m you, I’m us.”
“It went from being Kanye, which means the only one, to being just ‘Ye’—just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything. I’m just more a reflection of who we are.”
Kanye be anymore unpredictable, Ye?
