As social media users have learned in recent times, fast food wars aren’t just about which chain has the most competitive prices anymore. Wendy’s, KFC and Burger King have all thrown shade at their rivals; less involved in this savagery is McDonald’s, but it seems to want in on the game now.
A photo—amusingly shared by Burger King Belgium’s Facebook account—depicts a massive McDonald’s banner that reads, “Served by a king, or served as a king?” Smaller text below urges patrons to, “Discover our table service.”
The fast food giant is, however, still new at the trolling game, and Burger King proves it still has more experienced in this field by putting up a banner with a brutal comeback just next to McDonald’s.
In one fell swoop, Burger King ridicules McDonald’s amateurish trolling skills and food preparation methods with the one-liner: “Why try to roast when you can’t even flame-grill?”
Replicating the style of McDonald’s ad copy, the burger chain pairs the loud header with the small print, “Discover our flame-grilled burger.”
Burger King doesn’t just take the throne for flame-grilled burgers, it seems.
