Hermès Drops $400 Flip Flops That Will Help You Walk Out Of Wealth
Image via Hermès These rubber flip flops with thin soles designed by luxury brand Hermès are sold for a whopping £330 (US$445).
Despite the sophisticated product incorporating the use of “calfskin lining,” most people on social media failed to distinguish between these sandals and the typical US$10 flip flops. The only feature that puts these luxury sandals on edge is the small ‘H’ logo embroidered on the strap of each sandal.
Twitter users are expressing their candid sentiments with regards to the ridiculous pricing. One user complains, “They’re not special, but they cost 10 times a nice normal pair because f*** the poor.” Another compares the slippers to the ones seen in “the supermarket.” One user also jokes that the flip flops from Thailand look like they are from Hermès.
However, as sales rely on supply and demand principles, the fact that the sandals are still up on the brand’s website, available in multiple colors, probably goes to show there are willing buyers.
