Coca-Cola has been at the forefront of invention of late. There are light-up lightsaber bottles that quench the thirst of Star Wars enthusiasts, after-dark concoctions, and even a clear cola that tricks both the eyes and taste buds.
It’s safe to say that its search for ideas is long from over. The company has just rolled out a Coca-Cola Insiders Club subscription service that delivers new and unreleased products to the doorsteps of 1,000 fans each month.
The subscription comprises “three category-spanning beverages,” such as Coke Energy and Aha sparkling water, along with “a few surprises and swag.”
Members have to pay US$10 per month, or a lump sum of US$50 for six months. Lo and behold, all 1,000 slots were snapped up within the first three hours of the club’s launch.
The program will run for a trial period of six months before Coca-Cola decides if it should open it up again.
“As a total beverage company, we’re constantly looking for ways to innovate not only in our products—but also in the consumer-centric experiences we offer,” explained McCrea O'Haire, digital experiences manager at Coca-Cola North America, in a press release.
“The Insiders Club will allow us to showcase the diversity of the drinks we offer and get some of our newest innovations into the hands of fans who want to be among the first to enjoy them.”
Don’t worry if you missed out on the program. You can apply to be on its waitlist, and Coca-Cola will get back to you if the test is successful.
