Disney Releases Dreamy Chinese Art Posters For Films Like ‘Mulan’, ‘Black Widow’

To commemorate Chinese New Year, Disney China has unleashed a series of Chinese art-style posters that tease its numerous releases for 2020.
The artworks arrive aptly ahead of Disney’s live-action remake for Mulan, scheduled for release on 27 March 2020. Instead of featuring the movies’ main characters, the posters are imbued with traditional art elements like Chinese calligraphy, flowers and clouds, along with key details from the films.
The Black Widow poster, for instance, spotlights the Black Widow hourglass-like symbol in intricate carvings, whereas the Mulan graphic showcases a sword in the center. For forthcoming video game-themed action comedy Free Guy, Disney features Ryan Reynolds’ blue shirt and various game visuals.
Black Widow and Free Guy will drop in US theaters on 1 May and 1 July respectively. The other films teased in this series are Onward (6 March), The New Mutants (8 April), Pixar’s Soul (19 June), Jungle Cruise, The King’s Man (16 September), Murder on the Orient Express sequel Death on the Nile (9 October), Marvel Studios’ The Eternals (6 November), Raya and the Last Dragon (27 November), and West Side Story (18 December).
