In December, Australian couple Elayna Carausu and Riley Whitelum offered Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg a ride across the Atlantic Ocean to the annual UN climate conference COP25 in Madrid.
The activist is known to opt for zero-emission travel in efforts to reduce her carbon footprint. Hence, when the UN conference relocated to Madrid from Chile due to the civil tension, Thunberg requested for a lift across the Atlantic Ocean through sail on Twitter.
The couple, Carausu and Whitelum, have been sailing on their vessel, La Vagabonde, and putting out videos of their adventures at sea for five years on YouTube.
They thus welcomed Thunberg on board and embarked on a journey 3,200 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean to Lisbon, Portugal.
The pair recently uploaded a video of the preparation behind their expedition with Thunberg and how they even managed to get in touch with the climate activist. Watch it below.
The first video of our Atlantic crossing from North America to Lisbon is out now on youtube! Here it is: https://t.co/9SyZctiLgG ,
