Melania Trump is set to appear in public service announcements addressing the novel coronavirus, in hopes of reminding US citizens that while life appears to be different right now, “this is not how we’ll live forever.”
The first lady unveiled a PSA on her Twitter account, providing assurance to the public despite the disruption of the coronavirus pandemic.
“While changes need to be made now, this is not how we’ll live forever. Our children will return to school, people will return to work, we will gather at the places of worship, concerts, and sporting events again,” Trump said.
The minute-long video comes a day after the White House announced that it would be teaming up with several media companies to educate the public and provide more information about COVID-19.
These include NBCUniversal, ViacomCBS, ABC/Walt Disney Television and iHeartMedia. NBC will be creating videos and graphics to educate high-risk populations on the steps they should take to protect themselves, while Disney will “promote priority messaging for parents and families,” per PEOPLE.
In addition to FLOTUS, Surgeon General Jerome Adams, Dr Deborah Birx and Dr Anthony Fauci will be among the administration officials who will appear in a series of PSAs to explain how Americans can prevent the spread of the virus.
“I urge you to stay connected to family and loved ones through the video chats, phone calls, social media and other safe technologies,” Trump said into the camera. “Stay safe and remember, while many of us are apart, we are all in this together.”
