The four-part documentary,10 Years with Hayao Miyazaki, on the legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki is now streaming for free.
The series, available to view by way of Japanese broadcaster NHK, encompasses the personal life of the Studio Ghibli co-founder and his iconic works, such as Ponyo, The Wind Rises and From Up on Poppy Hill.
The documentary goes in detail about the animation team behind these projects, as well as the relationship between Miyazaki and his son, Gorō, who worked with him for From Up on Poppy Hill. The production for the film took place in 2011 amid Fukushima’s nuclear disaster, which will be highlighted in the documentary too.
Hayao Miyazaki is best known for his works on Studio Ghibli, which has released some of its films on Netflix to viewers in several parts of the world. You can catch the documentary on Hayao Miyazaki on NHK’s website.
