Almost everyone would be aware of social distancing guidelines put in place by governments, so British broadcaster Channel 4 is reaching out to where the sun don’t shine to promote social responsibility during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The network’s new ad, produced by its marketing and communications division 4Creative, places buttocks in the spotlight to crack out a message to stay indoors. The spot is directed mainly at young males, who are apparently more likely to flout lockdown regulations in the UK.
“Britain! When was the last time you did something that really mattered with your arse?” comedian Matt Berry can be heard narrating. “We need your buttocks. No ifs. Just butts.”
“Because we’ll beat this faster, clenched together, on the sofa,” he continues.
You heard him. If even bums are staying at home, why can’t you?
