The coronavirus pandemic has forced many to stay at home so as to prevent the virus spread. However, the social-distancing measures also mean that many are not able to spend time with their friends outdoors.
Puzzle Break, a Seattle-based company specialized in making escape rooms, has now created a virtual escape room for you and your friends to take on via video conferencing platform Zoom.
The virtual escape room, called The Grimm Escape, aims to offer a similar feel as a physical escape room with various challenges that require team collaboration. However, Nate Martin, co-founder of the startup, says Puzzle Break hopes to compensate for the lack of physical obstacles by experimenting with “a certain type of magic” in the digital scene.
The game comes with a guide who will act as your “fairy godparent” to help your journey out of the escape room, Mashable reports.
The Grimm Escape is available on Zoom for teams of all sizes at prices starting from US$25 per person. Puzzle Break plans to provide its virtual escape rooms to other platforms later.
