Burger King’s latest stunt, Autopilot Whopper, demonstrates that even smart cars are in for a Whopper.
The vehicles are depicted to be capable of braking when they identify a Burger King sign—which incidentally has huge white letters against a red background—as a stop sign.
The campaign shows a smart car traveling down an empty road, with the driver narrating what he sees on its screen. “There’s a Burger King sign that’s down the hill, and it’s going to try to stop,” the driver describes. “Stopping for traffic control for a Burger King sign.”
The clever ad implies that even cars on autopilot will find that Whoppers are always a good reason to stop.
The Autopilot Whopper commercial was created by creative agency Publicis Latvia and advertising agency MullenLowe US.
