Musical duo Twenty One Pilots have released a “never-ending” music video that you can participate in so it literally never ends.
The music video was developed for its latest single, Level of Concern, and basically requires fans to submit footage of themselves to keep it going endlessly.
The concept was teased in a live 24-hour video on 12 June 2020, which showed random imagery on a TV screen. It also featured an (877) number to dial in. The teaser, titled Start Here, excited fans around the world.
On 22 June 2020, musicians Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun released their endless Level of Concern music video on YouTube. The project is backed by video rendering platform Imposium and created by director Jason Zada.
The video is now live, and fans can interact on the messaging board while watching the music video that goes on forever.
Viewers can take part in the music video by dialing in the number, or visiting the Twenty One Pilots website, which will demand a code from them. When the code is successfully entered, fans will receive a .zip file filled with a bunch of images, sounds, and clips from the phones of Joseph and Dun.
The folder will provide a total of 20 clues to the next code. One of them is hidden in the closed captioning of the music video, while another is in the spectrogram of an audio file. There is also a photo file, which opens a text editor to read coordinates; fans can enter that into Google Maps to find the next code.
If all 20 codes are solved, viewers can then unlock a page that allows them to upload their content for the Level of Concern music video.
Twenty One Pilots also released a video explaining the codes for the video. Watch both the music video and explainer below.
