Kanye West has announced that he hopes to have Jay-Z as his vice-presidential running mate in the upcoming US elections.
West spoke to Kris Kaylin from the Charleston radio station Z93 Jamz on Sunday, which was also the same day as his first rally in the South Carolina city.
The entrepreneur said that Michelle Tidball, a Christian pastor out of Wyoming, is his current running mate. However, she is open to taking up another position if he finds another.
“You know who my favorite candidate for my running mate is?” West asked Kaylin. He presented a riddle to her, hinting the initials of South Carolina, which was shown on his website.
“So what I did is put the initials of this city down, and then I put Kanye 2020. Now, who would that be?” West questioned.
Kayline responded by saying Jay-Z’s real name, Shawn Carter. West laughed and said, “What I do is look at the code, look at the signs… I was like, ‘You know who should be my running mate? Shawn Carter.’”
When asked whether he had spoken to Jay-Z about his plans or not, West told the interviewer that he had not spoken to Jay-Z in a long time.
“And the fact we [haven’t] talked in so long, that’s how you know we’re real brothers. Because unfaithful ones can be mad at you and still pull up [because] they [are] getting the cheque,” he added.
West speaks about Jay-Z at the 10:05 mark in the interview below.
