Swiss performance textile company HeiQ has developed HeiQ Viroblock, one of the world’s first antiviral technologies proven to curb COVID-19 transmissions through fabrics.
Now, the company will be partnering with denim brands DL1961 and Warp + Weft to launch fashion collections using the antimicrobial technology. The denim brands will have the technology applied in liquid form to denim during the laundering process.
The surface will be sanitized to provide a germ-resistant surface. It will also have a silver component that is able to kill virus molecules when it comes in contact with them.
The HeiQ Viroblock will remain active on the garments for around 30 washes.
The company has also launched face masks using its antiviral technology, which is currently available in Switzerland, and will soon roll out to Europe, the UK and the US.
We have set up a webshop for HeiQ's very own original washable community masks as well as single use FFP2 masks, treated with our antiviral textile technology HeiQ Viroblock. For the moment, it's for Switzerland only, but EU, UK and USA will follow.https://t.co/UeLiFksDqJ pic.twitter.com/EmNkrmHlYk
