One woman from Tennessee didn’t even get the opportunity to laugh at how her face turned out in her driver’s license photo, as many would have.
Jade Dodd, who had just renewed her license in Hickman County, couldn’t believe what was seated under her nose when her license came delivered on Thursday. Instead of her face, what beamed back in her photo ID was an empty chair.
Dodd told CNN’s WKRN that the employee at the DMV “did not really believe me” when she insisted the license needed a do-over. “Then, she looked it up in the system and goes, ‘Oh, I need my manager for this,’” the woman shared.
Tennessee’s Department of Safety and Homeland Security later explained to CNN that the wrong photo had been applied to Dodd’s license because it was captured and saved to her profile.
“That was the last picture taken on file,” a representative addressed.
However, they added that the department “immediately made things right with the customer” upon learning of the matter, and has since reissued the woman a license with the correct photo, as well as “addressed this situation internally.”
Dodd has no deep-seated anger for the mistake. Instead, she thinks the whole affair is pretty hilarious.
She recounted, “I was at work Friday and [my boss] pointed to a chair… and was like, ‘I thought this was you, I waved at it this morning.’”
Currently on hold with the dmv since this is what I got in the mail when I renewed my license.... 🤦♀️
