The coronavirus pandemic has halted most vacation plans as the virus continues to linger on. However, if you wish to immerse yourself in natural environments from around the world while staying at home, you can do it through this new site called Sounds of the Forest.
The website has gathered sounds from forests and woodlands and uploaded them on a world map for internet users to listen to the tranquil sounds of nature wherever they are.
The sounds are part of an open-source library, allowing anyone to use, listen, and create from them.
The website was created for the Timber Festival 2021, and selected artists will be producing something creative from these sounds with the support of PRS for Music Foundation.
The audio map is continually getting updated, so you can always head back to the website and discover new sounds at the other corner of the world.
You can visit the website here, or listen to some samples below.
