IKEA has revealed that it has teamed up with Taiwanese PC company ASUS’ Republic of Gamers (ROG) to create a range of affordable gaming furniture and accessories. The new line will carry an initial array of 30 products.
The flatpack furnishing company stated that the products will tie functionality into home gaming furniture and will be designed by the IKEA Product Development Center in Shanghai.
By partnering with ROG, IKEA wants to mash its home furnishing knowledge with ROG’s expertise in developing an exceptional gaming experience.
IKEA mentioned it would design and build “affordable gaming furniture and accessories,” though it didn’t explicitly reveal which sorts of products it will create with ROG. It is assumed that gaming desks and chairs will part of the mix.
“With years of experience delivering innovative gaming solutions to gamers, ROG has a strong understanding of the gaming community,” Kris Huang, general manager of ASUS’ gaming gear and accessories arm, says in a release.
The range is expected to launch in China in February 2021 and in the United States by October 2021.
