Fujifilm has made shooting analog instant film easy and fun with the Instax Square SQ1.
The Instax Square SQ1 is the square rendition of its popular Instax Mini, and it is packed with new automatic features while giving users 1.5x the print size.
The new camera has an Automatic Exposure function that automatically senses the level of ambient light when the shutter button is pressed. This allows it to optimize the shutter speed and flash output according to lighting conditions.
It also features the One-Touch Selfie Mode, which is designed specifically for selfies and close-up shots. It sets the best focus and exposure for the snap by changing the position of the lens when activated. To activate it, users can simply rotate the lens from On to Selfie mode.
Accompanying the launch of the camera are two new Instax instant film options: Instax Square Rainbow film and Instax Square Monochrome film. This gives users to be creative with their instant photography.
“Instax Square SQ1 combines everything our users love about the Instax Mini’s cool, modern style and functionality with the larger, vibrant output of our square format instant print film,” Fuji North America president Manny Almeida. “We’re confident that Instax Square SQ1 will fit right in with our creative, expressive user base and allow them to create compelling, new instant prints.”
The Fujifilm Instax Square SQ1 will be available mid-October for US$120 and will come in Terracotta Orange, Glacier Blue, and Chalk White. The film packs will cost US$15 for a 10-pack of the Monochrome version, and US$16 for the Rainbow variant.
