Hershey’s Shares Map Showing How To Trick-Or-Treat Safely This Halloween

With the coronavirus lurking in the shadows, fears will undoubtedly be heightened this Halloween. Thankfully, the festivities won’t be canceled this year. Brands like Netflix’s Stranger Things are reinventing classic haunted houses that continue to let people social distance.
Hershey’s, on the other hand, is convinced that many American families will stick to traditional trick-or-treating—as an unfailing custom that kids and the young at heart look forward to every year, how could they not? The confectionery maker has thus unveiled an online map that shows families in every county how to continue the tradition without being haunted by the ghastly disease that is COVID-19.
The visual, which you can access here, is color-coded based on the COVID-19 risk level of the area.
Counties labeled in green, such as Lake County in Oregon and Guadalupe County in New Mexico, currently have the lowest risk of coronavirus transmissions. Yellow and orange zones bear medium risk, while red-marked areas are especially vulnerable to the coronavirus.
Luckily, no matter where you live, there are a number of Halloween celebration ideas for you.
For instance, households in green areas, which report “less than one case per 100,000 people,” can afford to go trick-or-treating, participate in garage give-outs and neighborhood costume parties, as well as visit certified safehouses. On the other side, red zones should limit celebrations within homes as much as possible, though small in-person parties are still allowed.
