Donald Trump recently handed out autographs to officials and survivors of Hurricane Laura while visiting Lake Charles.
As he issued them out, he said, “Here, sell this tonight on eBay, you’ll get $10,000… Sell it tonight on eBay $10,000.”
Some then tried to sell Trump’s signature at the stipulated price, but the value did not seem to match at all. The Washington Post’s Phillip Bump spotted one of the signatures’ listings on eBay, which was quoted at US$9,999, a dollar less than Trump’s said value.
Unfortunately, nobody bought the autograph and the listing ended due to an “error.”
Another listing was found on the platform, but seeing as how both had different shades, it was likely they were not signed at the same event. The asking price for this signature was valued at US$10,000, but nobody seemed to be interested in it.
Remember when Trump signed those cards for those guys in Louisiana and said that they could get $10k for them on eBay? Someone tried to sell a Trump signature on eBay right after that. No one bought it. pic.twitter.com/NQAtK4Q2hH
