Burger King Denmark has decided to troll McDonald’s by responding to complaints by its rival’s customers.
In the cheeky effort with creative agency Uncle Grey, the fast-food chain personally replied to customers whose comments were left hanging on McDonald’s Facebook page on 24 September. Burger King gave each customer a voucher to claim a flame-grilled Whopper.
The prank aims to highlight the promise that the restaurant will now answer to any inquiries within 48 hours on its own Facebook page.
“Customer service is a big part of the entire guest experience and we haven’t been doing a good enough job in taking care of our guests online. When addressing this we realized there are even more burger fans out there that deserve a reply. We did what we can to help out, hoping some flame-grilled Whopper love can help make things better again,” Burger King Sweden’s marketing director Daniel Schroder said.
