LinkedIn has rolled out its major redesign, giving users access to LinkedIn Stories.
The makeover aims to make LinkedIn more modern and enjoyable to members while helping them get more out of the platform. Among the new features include a streamlined search experience and an upcoming dark mode.
It also has LinkedIn Stories “to connect more personally and less formally with their peers and friends.” According to the company, the feature “replace[s] those essential water cooler moments” especially “in the COVID world.”
Unfortunately, not all members are pleased with its new look. Several users have claimed that the Stories feature is more suited to Facebook and Instagram, rather than a professional network.
“LinkedIn introducing Stories lmfao what am I supposed to film? Me begging for a job?" a Twitter user joked. “Stop it. LinkedIn doesn’t need stories. It needs a job posting feed and that’s it,” another user weighed in.
So... basically Facebook.

No thanks.
I really am done with every app adding stories. I’m over it. Stop it. LinkedIn doesn’t need stories. It needs a job posting feed and that’s it. pic.twitter.com/UrV92V0379

While LinkedIn’s latest ‘redesign’ is not half as bad as Facebook’s, it is going to cause me to use the platform less. There’s something about changing key elements that take away from the emotional connect that I as a user had with LinkedIn. https://t.co/fc4gWM4arr

Linkedin stories are a hilarious concept. “Hey this is me hitting the Keurig after a conference call.” “Hey, this is me by the printer after I just circled back with my team about the deliverables.” “This is me on the phone asking my colleague about his current bandwith”
