The coronavirus pandemic has prompted unprecedented work-from-home arrangements around the world. Unfortunately, bringing your job to your home might create a disruptive routine and ultimately lead to an unbalanced lifestyle.
Microsoft is now coming up with a feature to help boost wellness for remote workers. Enter “virtual commutes.”
Microsoft Teams is working on a new tool for employees to distinguish the start and end of working hours so as to prevent burnout, per the Wall Street Journal.
Microsoft considered pre-COVID workdays, when staffers would take commuting time to and from the office into account. With that concept in mind, Microsoft’s new feature will ask employees to set times and goals to get their tasks completed for the day.
Remote workers are then encouraged to work during the allocated schedule and strive to tick off their daily to-do lists. If they are not able to do finish their tasks during the working hours, they can continue the uncompleted tasks the following day.
According to WSJ, the lifestyle-focused feature is still in the developmental stages, and has yet to be officially announced by Microsoft.
