Sacha Baron Cohen has created a fake Twitter account for his iconic role of Borat from his 2006 satirical film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
The account has been expressing contentious opinions in line with Borat’s character. In a recent video posted on the account, Borat’s voice can be heard declaring his support for Donald Trump after the 2020 presidential debate.
“Congratulation to great friend of the Kazakh people @realDonaldTrump for winning debate today! Impressive and amazing result for a strong premier who always put America and Kazakhstan first,” the tweet read.
Back in August, Cohen was seen reprising his role as Borat in a behind-the-scenes video captured by a fan. This led many to believe that the actor is working on a sequel for the 2006 film.
In the past, Cohen had gotten into his Borat character and appeared in public events to promote his films. So, this Twitter account could be a promotional attempt for Cohen’s next Borat film.
