You can bring elements of Rembrandt’s The Night Watch and the like into your living space with IKEA’s latest collection, which is wholly inspired by the work of 17th-century Dutch master painters.
The artsy range, called DEKORERA, rekindles the exploration of lighting and shadows, reminiscent of the work from artists like Vermeer and Rembrandt.
Here, you’ll find minimal ceramics like jugs and bowls that look straight out of a Dutch painting. Colors in the collection are also generally muted to portray moody and dimly-lit rooms found in artworks of this style.
To bring in a Scandinavian design aspect, though, IKEA has thrown in a pop of color in the form of vibrant textiles to brighten up your room and add warmth to the dreariness of winter.
