There are countless ridiculous and fake COVID-19 theories out there in the expansive interwebs, so the University of Cambridge has created an interactive game called Go Viral for online users to learn how misinformation is easily spread.
In this game, you get to play devil’s advocate and create fake coronavirus-based news through three levels from fear-mongering to making up a conspiracy theory.
The website aims to educate players on how simple it is to create bogus news and the ways people go about spreading deceptive news during the COVID-19 era.
The five-minute game invites players to “walk a mile in the shoes of a manipulator to get to know their tactics from the inside.” Try it out right here.
