US representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) got on Twitch to play one of the most popular video games in 2020, Among Us, to promote voting for the US elections this year.
She first went on Twitter and said that she was seeking players to join in on the famous game in a bid to encourage voting on Election Day.
Soon, famed Twitch streamer pokimane; HasanAbi, a political commentator on Twitch; US representative Ilhan Omar; and other top streamers like Toast and Septiceye decided to take part in the Among Us session with AOC.
In the first round, AOC took on the role of ‘imposter,’ which she had no desire in being at all. “I don’t like to kill,” she exclaimed at one point.
In the end, the stream saw over 700,000 viewers. AOC reminded them to plan out how they will be voting so that they can successfully enter their ballots for the elections this year.
Those interested to see AOC in action can watch the replay on her newly-created Twitch account.
Anyone want to play Among Us with me on Twitch to get out the vote? (I’ve never played but it looks like a lot of fun)
